Hi All the Sifu,
As per above title, is it true that wider tires causing more fuel consumption?
Like 195/50/R15 ---> 215/50/R15
Will this cause higher fuel consumption?

You are looking at the width only. By going 20mm wider without reducing the aspect ratio meaning the 50 series the 215/50 have increase your diameter by 3.37% and this will surely increase your FC as your car have to drive a larger diameter wheel. .....
how about this.. Iron rims 195/70/R13 to Rays TE37 replica 215/45/R16.. will it increase?

Recently changed my tyres from 155/70/r12 to 165/55/r14. Car feels heavier during take off. As for FC,it worsened,but only slightly...
Have change from 215/50/16 to 265/35/19
No change in fuel consumption
...
Wah! 7% bigger in diameter no difference in FC, moreover the tyres can go in your wheel arch?

Maybe his rims are those super expensive ultralight forged magnesium/carbon kind of stuff!
So despite much larger diameter, overall still much lighter than stock.
