hello guys..im planning to buy second hand 4wd car.my question is between subaru n evo fuel consumtion who is better..planning to buy evo7 or subaru version 8..and of course maintainace..

Not much head-ache, as compared to Subaru. ..but some parts hard to find also. Luckily kedai potong a lot.

And frankly speaking, some wear+tear parts on Proton/Mitsubishi can be used on Evo also.

Which car faster??. Hard to answer, cause most those 4WDT owners won't run on stock. Least case upgrade the de-tune OEM ECU. Higher modded vs?. Very2 subjective.

evo fc is higher than subaru based on my experience driving both car before.
stock to stock, also hard to compare coz it depends on the driver's skills and guts and how much he loves his car......

for new parts, evo & impreza both are available, price almost the same,
for used parts, evo has the advantage - many available and some at bargain price
maintenance - impreza is more expensive and sometimes headache if not properly repaired (boxer engine)
evo is expensive but cheaper compared to scooby and more straight forward and not so complicated.

top speed - i tried before, scooby rules....
handling - evo rules (ayc)

but end of the day, its u who is gonna drive the car.....go for a test drive for both, but for evo only available evo8 & above for unreg units.....scooby ver 8, yes still available....price...evo8 bit more expensive than scooby ver8 sti

on a side note,

E7 has 48L of fuel tank, E8 has 53L, E9 has 55L and E10RS has 50L while E10GSR has 55L.

On the other hand, Subaru's Impreza V7, V8 and V9 has 60L while V10 has a bigger 64L.



some chose Evo over Impreza just because it's easier to change the plugs.

subaru maintainence more labour work because the engine bay is compact, most of the stuff you do need to take off the intercooler, besides that even you wanna add a oil catch tank you gotta buy a tiny one, change timing belt have to take out alot of parts, even changing a turbo inlet hose you need to take out the whole inlet manifold soo prepare to leave your car in the workshop unless is just a normal service maintainence engine oil change, oil filter and air filter. never try evo before so i duno , but have tried airtrek , 130k kms on engine still running smooth no overhaul at all. so both cars have pros and cons. make the decision yourself, dont go to ask in subaru club or evo club as most of them will support their own cars so make the decision yourself also prepare for the maintainence cost as its not cheap,

prefer evo for looks but evo interior not so appealing and driving position a bit awkward 4 me since im 6 footer , sat in scooby once and it was much more nicer.

scooby has betetr sounding exhaust note , miles away ur family/frens will noe ur cmin haha and the torque of scooby is blistering.

evo is more spacious i should say , engine a bit more quiet compared to scooby boxer engine but again both are good cars since they both have rally dna , evo handles well , scooby better top end. other then that just go with ur heart hahaha
