Just wanna know the opinion/experience of others regarding the above,

my main concern would be idling... i understand the type r throttle body doesnt have the IACV valve unlike other b-series throttle body.. so my question is, would i suffer any cold start issue?

** bro AD_EG, i noted your advise, just wanna know more heehhe cheers **

no worries bro..its best to get the opinion of many usually....so you can get a more accurate answer and decision.

don forget to add your fuel rail

Arrow...
Planning for upgrade huh?

With that $$$$ I say go get a set of CTR B16B cams. first.. you will feel more kick and
it is still good for daily drive... This will suit your std set up...

i'm using b18cr intake + s90 tb on my b16a. so far so good. no problem during cold start up. but yea laa... better u buy a set of 99 spec b16b cams.

ok i've just fitted a set of b18cR throttle body + intake manifold.

so far no cold start (thank god) but i suffer eratic idling.

after driving, when i stop at a traffic light, my idle goes up and down, up and down (like i have a set of high cams).

when my air cond is on, that doesn't occur.

how can i solve it?

was your throttle body cleaned/washed/polished before being installed?

then it could be a vacuum leak or IACV ....try tat and see..

which is the one under the throttle body? fitv right? anyway, i believe b18c R throttle body doesnt have the fitv.

vacuum leak, hmm thats gona be a it difficult to troubleshoot, no worries. shall bring it to the workshop again.

thanks bro.

TPS sensor also can cause this

b18c R no IACV ? i thought they got IACV but not FITV? now i also  hehe

the one under your TB is FITV....the type R doesnt have FITV...so you can clean the IACV,check TPS sensor, check vacuum lines....Please try a possible and easy fix....reset your ECU.

Arrowhead....
I pity u man...
U pay the workshop to fix it correct?
They no responsible to ensure all this fixed for you?
A little funny.... If diy then I can understand...

Btw,,, it is not chip related....
try diy air screw adjustment first...reduce
the air bypass and see if can stabilize first...

FITV hehe sorry. IACV is the one at the back. my IACV cleaned before also.

maybe tps sensor related... cuz he just gave me 1 to try, i shall ask him to get me another set just to try it out first.

thanks for all the inputs.

E-Tech: i replied u via PM

merry xmas GUYS!

Bro..
As i said in my PM..
TPS must be at a certain accurate position to ensure all information
goes back to the ecu correctly... If car got install SAFC or VAFC easy to see that
at the setting displaythe voltage reading... If out of the specified range then need
need to fine adjust the tps unitl get the correct value/position...
The signal value must be, during key-on is 0.475v

bro e-tech,

any other way to accurately adjust the tps sensor other than checking on the key-on voltage?

i dont have a safc or vafc installed.

Bro
hv u adjusted da tps and solve ur
hunting idling issue?

it was adjusted, but my foremen didnt use the multimeter... he adjusted it manually...

everything went well until earlier just now when i redline my car...

upon stopping in front of my hse, my idle was eratic again, i beleive its not 100% at 0.475 volt, which is the cause of my idling.

tmr i shall try to fine tune it bit by bit MANUALLY AHAHAHAH

happy enw year to u bro!

bro arrow...

manage to DIY the TPS adjusting ? any result?

yes bro, i adjusted it (upwards) and so far so good, my eratic idling is gone... (touch wood).

but i notice, when im driving.. then i clutch to masuk free gear when approaching traffic light, my idle flies to nearly 2k rpm...

is that normal for u guys as well?
