Why and what are the advantage of having more than 2 piece in a rim? Izit for "wow" factor or izit there is a technical reason to it having saparated pieces??

Easy replace damaged parts, different material usage/lighter, better balancing, or just have "Takumi's factor"??

If you compare 16" 1 piece and 16" 3 piece set, the 3 piece is lighter.
(Comparison using BR banana type)

This is as far as I know.

different in processing flow additional threatment for each

usually more piece you have, the harder, lighter, better the rim and more expensive it cost.
But I do not have any Website for direct comparison in hand at this moment

i can't confrim any local rim manufacture like ICE or BSA offer 2, 3 piece rim. As reedoor explain to me earlier, 2, 3 piece rim are all import item. So forget about replacement, it will cost a bomb.

yah agree wif sonictheory.. and i read in magazine before they said 1 piece rim is more lighter.. and 2 or 3 piece rim is more expensive so.. but u can make ur special offset.. this is what i know la coz they compare a rays 2 piece rim with TE37.. n the 2 piece rim is about 15kg for 18" but TE37 only 8kg something..
