4WD drifting

skagee.. for JGTC.. the rules say so.you can only enter an FR car.. nothing else, even if you wanted too run AWD you cant. which is why AWD cars like the skyline, and Subaru have to switch to FR.

The rules are there to try to create equal standing. if you have seen JGTC reqs, its very carefully designed to try and create as fair a playing field as possible with so many different type of cars, and manufacturers entering.

If you dont set a rule for drivetrain, you will have FF cars coming in, AWD, FF.. etc. and then it starts to get messy.. so they decided to lock it down as FR.

you still remember the TVR eh? up cameron? i only remember driving up to frasers with YS, and it was raining, and he was drifting the tail out.
Hi Glee,

I'm confused...
Where in this the regulations that they say 4wd is not permitted?
I thought it was more of a choice by the teams to remove the 4wd system and not its because it was not allowed:

As for Ian/Ivan, hopefully the next time around in any drift competition they would get their hands on a proper FR.

The competition of any drifting form in the future should also only support FR cars. as the drift style on 4wd and FR on tarmac is totally different. Therefore giving points to these different layout cars remain very subjective.

As i remember there was an argument about a Sleeper BMW drifing better then Ian with his 4wd back in sso3. some how the BMW drifted better, but the judges prefered 4wd drifts by Ian. You cant compare 4wd with RWD drifts.. its totally different.

Anyway we should keep 4wd Drifting to where it belongs.. which is RALLY stages.

anyway we dont see any 4wd evo's or rex driftin in D1 Japan. :)

Are you asking IAN/IVAN to go back where they belong which is the rally track?
Why there are FF/MR in rally?

(I never said that lol)

i repeat:

LOLOLOL. Ian/Ivan have massive skills, so compare drifting in a same platform is what we should look at 1st. We need to set the standard right. FWD,RWD,4WD drifts are all different. you cant compare styles for different platform. Its just so plain obvious.

4WD or FF drifts are sub category for the drift scene in the world currenty, isn't that obvious ?

anyway you dont see MR2 in D1 japan as well.. dont say FF or AWD. We have a good sample which is D1 japan. Why dont we take some of their Idea ? lol :) But i must admit their scoring system is pretty bad.

I dunno lah, but do you all think that the D1 Japan scoring method is bias sumtimes?

what i am trying to say is that the judges are sumtimes bias towards certain drifters. do you all think so?

Zee: I've been hearing a lot of comments on how bad or bias the judges are at D1. Would you give us some instances as I can't seem to see it..LOLOLOLOL. Thanks :)

heheheheehe .... well i've watched the video taken by a group member during the SS03 ... well really got nothing to say man .... sigh!! lets put it this way it doesn't do justice to a few people who were performing alot better so i really have to agree with zee on the different platform categories ... anyway, over is over lets forget the past and look to the future ok ...
well lil j/k its pretty difficult to judge in the D1 as they're all bloody good in their own way ... i've been watching some of the vids and hmmm, its really pretty difficult to judge .... they're all so good ..

Hahha lets hope the new few SSO would be better and Drifters like URAS join as well. lol :)

Yeah about the D1, there is a few occassion they seem to be bias towards those top players while they are at final 32 or something like that. Well guess scoring like this depends on how the judges sees it. therefore there is no right or wrong, and judges now in D1 only Kei & orido rite ? They can decide to give more marks to who ever they prefer..

Due to the fact that there is not specific winning point. so the point giving are very much subjective. Who can follow the closest, who can run away faster, who got more style, who got more smoke ? who can maintain longest and fastest drift ? Oh well no comment. on this.. let see how this sport will grow to an international standard shits.. lol ;)

Zee taiko...chill la bro......neway..i support u la.... :D

haiya ... no choicela that time during the SS03 went to p.d mah, what to do short commitment, now no need liao very free hehehehehehehh ... next one if i'm still keeping the car will surely participate ... hehehehehheheeh

MR2 cannot make it lah.... MR2 where can drift, mid-engined cars cannot drift wan....

Uras: well, what you said is quite true, that judging that sort of drift comp is very difficult, but like Skagee, i have heard my friends were whinning about how unfair the judges are. Just wanna see how is everybody's opinion here.

Btw, hope to see you in action in the next SSO series, kekekeke.

MK: last time your performance during SSO3 not that bad what, quite good also...

Can make it lah...otherwise no more guys drifting MR cars drifting in SSO series already....
