sorry to break this to you steve, the C60 manual gearbox wont match the auto/SMT 2ZZGE VVti-L. it been written before (celica forums). There are a whole lot of stuff to consider to even make it work. A chap in UK spend 5K pounds to to make his work (BTW he trades used cars as a business.)

the rev matching of the 'L' is too much to even get to work from auto to manual. Unless you have a whole half cut celica 2ZZGE. then it makes work very easy.

thats the reason why standalone ECUs had quite difficult to find/work for auto/SMT 2ZZGE. it has something to do with the 'Rev matching'.

a piggyback does however will work with the auto/SMT 2ZZGE (car ECU).

for you to go manual, u need to either buy manual celica or whole half cut celica where the transplant of engine, wire harness, joy stick, transmission AND the 2ZGGE ECU (manual car).

if you 'want' a faster car (your Celica) i think, (if you wanna remain NA) a piggyback and a aftermarket manifold helps a lot. An oversized aftermarket trottle body has only a minimal efffect. (i think the 2ZZGE trottle is already 60mm).

The forged pistons offered by TRD (compression will be up to 13:1, i think) will be difficult to tune in malaysia as our petrol is up to 97, whereelse in japan , they do offer up to 100 octane.

however, if you have $$$, Force induction the way to go for auto/SMT 2ZZGE (maybe time consuming to tune, as it relatively few who done it)

if the gearbox.... does it mean that the gearbox going to be 'kong'?
