Over the years , if your engine tuning is out of range it will soak up the pre-cat. This would partially block exhaust gas from exiting it smoothly, thus poor performance.For V-6 engine we dont need to change the whole exhaust manifold(extractor) in order to free up some hidden horses. Changing to a good downpipe will be adequate.There is nothing much to tune for our cars except for the following :-- Downpipe & exhaust system.- Freeflow filter (eg; K&N, HKS, Apexi)- Iridium spark plugs.- New Coilpacks.- New O2 sensor/s- larger throttle body (polished).If u want to go further , u would need someone who can re-chip ur ecu or reprogram it .You can also install the Apexi SAFC, so that u can adjust ur air/fuel mixture for best power and performance but it won't be a walk in the park. Its very time consuming to set it to a perfect state of tune. I would not want to go to that 'area' unless i have lots of time to spend on my car.U can also buy a programmable ECU from performance shop which will cost u a bomb. They will have some 'specialise technician' to tune ur engine properly.Good luck![/QUOTE]
