Does anyone got this experience after changing timing belt when engine in cold or over night not used when start engine got a weird sound from the timing belt side after a minute driving or engine in high temperature the weird sound gone?

Any idea what happen?

it happen to me also.

Finally, found tensional belt (Auto tensioner) NG.. After change. OK.

The symptom only when the engine is cold only, after a while no weird sound.

:wavey:

hello aaloon,

my i know what brand of the timing belt have u been install?

its the same problem occur to me when i install the Power Enterprise timing belt.
the "sound" came from you engine bay... in the pulley area after the long stop/rest.
the mechanic claim that the timing kinda "keras" or old stock... maybe faulty unit.
then the mechanic replace to the OEM Mitsubishi... then its ok...

you may refer to this link regarding the "noise" problem for timing belt.

p/s: the Power Enterprise timing belt paid by the seller. but the OEM by the mechanic.

hope this might help u....

For 1st week having the "noise" problem. They do adjust the tensioner.
the head mechanic claim might be his worker tight to hard then he re-adjust.
Next day ok... But after 2nd day the "nosie" problem re-occur.
I already tired due to spent more time in the workshop rather then drive the car.

Then I request them to change the whole set to OEM parts.
Seems all fine after that... I feel relief... Even tried my speed cut limitation.

Power Enterprise is a good brand but sometimes had bad luck getting faulty parts.
But on TODA... Kinda good also....
