Hi Guys

Need a little bit of help here.

I am planning to strip my aluminum hood of its paint and to leave it in raw aluminum. Does anyone know where I can get the paint to be stripped off and then polish the hood to a mirror finish ? or at least to a shiny finish ?

Something like this.

Any indication on what's the cost like ?

Thanks in advance for the advise

i don't know if paint stripper for air-craft grade was available here or not...only that grade was safe for aluminium parts....

for polishing it if u have buffer/rotary machine for polishing just use it with "autosol" compound...that would do the shiny job :adore:

I see but unfortunate I do not have the necessary tools though. Any suggestion if there is anyone around that provide this service that doesnt cost an arm and a leg ? heheheh

mirror finish surface on an aluminium surface?..won't it be too reflective for u and other road users as well?..

as far as i know...paint can be strip using 2 method...one is using chemical...the other is sand/bead blasting...better go for the latter...

but have no clue at all how to polish aluminum though...

It can be done, i've seen some engineering shop polish certain aluminium parts b4, the wheel is made of cloth but i'm not sure how they polish the hood..

Thanks for the suggestion, it does seems like using chemical is the way to go. Any idea if there are any shop that provides this service ? Unfortunately my Racing Art does not do so though. Seeking help/advise
