Yup, i added one for my car. I presume urs is a Proton too. Open up the housing for the steering (held by 2 or 3 screws from the bottom of the steering housing, look at where the lever to adjust the steering is). Unscrew them and after that open the housing. After opening, u would be able to have a open access to the ignition key. Unplug the wire harness for the ignition key. Have a good look at it. The thickest wire is the + terminal. The other 3 small ones are:- 1. For radio etc 2. For main power to the car (meter console, Check Engine, fuel pump, air con etc) 3. For starter motor for ignition When u turn the key in ur ignition, the wire harness acts as a switch and it goes in step. The first step it connects the + terminal to (1) above, there's where u get the radio. When u turn the key further, it connects + to (1) and (2), that's where u get the check engine light. And when u turn further some more, ur engine cranks. You have 2 choices to add in the switch. Firstly, you can just cut the connection for (3) and put a switch in between. When u add the switch here, you can power on the car, the radio, air con blower etc with even the Check Engine light. But when u turn the key to crank the engine, nothing happens. This method is good to confuse unauthorised users as they would not think it is due to a switch but rather a bad battery or something. But this method is bad because when u can power up the car, you can reset the car alarm (presuming its someone without using the key to access). Or alternatively, you can do like i did, you can cut the + terminal and put the switch here. When u put the switch here, nothing happens when the key is turned. No radio, no Check Engine light, nothing. Even when u press the alarm reset button also nothing happens. Car would be totally dead. The process is quite easy. Just cut the connection and add in the switch, or after cutting the connection, you can add in wires to lengthen the connection and hide the switch further away from the driver side. Use a good 12V switch and good wires. For the wires, I would suggest u use the same wires that are used to power amplifiers (thick red ones).
