To All Hondarian,

Recently do some window shopping to look for the suitable Half cut for
B16A/B18C conversion to my EK chasis.

1. Just want to hear/discuss with u all the Pro & Cons for doing conversion using B16A/B18C half-cut from EG/DC chasis to EK/EJ chasis.Heard that EG and DC chasis share a same design in engine mounting and suspension geometry but a little bit different from EK chasis.

2. Is it worth to plonk B18C GSR/SiR engine to EK chasis since the price is not much different from EK and EG half-cut.

My car is EJ7 SOHC manual standard.

Please give me your opinion.

a) meter harness is different
b) door harness is different
c) climate control harness is different.
d) other connectors different

chop here chop there, sure can retrofit one.. but when you have electrical problem... then you know the price of 'troubleshooting' electrical connections. some more, colour codes for the wiring are damn near useless already to rely on for troubleshooting. So who's going to troubleshoot it for you?

Save now, regret later, or do properly now, no regrets later.

Your choice.

all the wiring stated above was not use when u dump in the engine
just the engine harness was using only cut 8 wire where connect the green colour socket below the console box the rest was using stock ej/ek wiring
for those without knowledge will only cut here n there or put in the whole set of eg/dc2 wiring into their car will cause the problem what shiro tell to us

maybe use whole set eg/dc2 wiring this will do what out of kl area or even maybe still have some foreman still doing this kind of stupid
for my experience its just simple n i more prefer dc2 wiring where can unplug engine harness just next to fuse box when u taken out your engine or replace the harness when the wiring was too old cause of carbon n engine heat destroy the wiring seal/rubber fragile/crack of socket effect of lost connection

i saw many many many many ek with eg halfcut b16a,no problem at all.trobleshooting also not a problem if the mech know what he was doing

Hmm.. I thought EK harness was one piece? (or was that EK9 only?) I know the DC2 and EG can seperate, but not the EK.

I haven't seen EK4's wiring up close though, so I'm not sure if it's one piece or two.

ek9/ek4/eg6/eg9/ef all was 1 piece (engine harness)
only dc2 was can separate to 2 piece

Hmm.. I've to go take a look then. I seem to remember that ek harness (engine and dash) was in one piece.
