Hey guys,

I drive an Astina BG with pop ups, I don't know about the newer models, but mine is pretty old and the headlamps are SEALED. This means if i wanna change the bulb i gotta change the whole lamp.

My "Sealed-Beam Lamp" =
Reflector + Glass + Bulb all sealed together as one piece.

Is there any way around this to accomodate for future mods? If i wanna change to any other bulb of my choice also susah, wanna change to HID also susah,

.....can only buy original mazda one piece sealed lamp... :(

Is there any shop that can take out my sealed-lamps and make custom ones that are not sealed? (so i can change ONLY THE bulb in the future)

What about the newer astinas? Are they still using sealed lamps? If not maybe I can buy from a kedai potong and put on my car. Coz in my manual it illustrates that u can change the bulb but i think my manual for the newer astina and not my car.

Any advice? thoughts? Comments? Thanks!

i'm not sure about astina...
but for mx5 we are using sealed-beam lights too.. just change it to unsealed beams.. then u can change h4 bulbs....

taiwan mari unsealed beams are RM70.. plastic..easy to crack
japan mari RM180.. glass.. not easy to crack...

u can also go find it in halfcut shops.. i heard pajero lights are the same.. RM20-50 only from halfcut shops..

I heard from a friend, he got non sealed lamps from cycle and carriage for RM200 one piece (or per pair, can't remember).
