Hi all Friendly Forumers,
Thanks for those who shared in my previous topic.

Well, actually im in a mid of purchasing a car previuosly bought in thru Langkawi and i noticed in the reg card copy there is a import duty paid amounting to RM38K and now i just wonder how much roughtly a Nissan S15 cost in Langkawi the island of duty free?

The second hand price on the inland for year 99 is abt RM96K and how much will it be for cars from Langkawi even thou import duty has been paid for the same model and year?

Thank you:adore:

As long the tax is paid and documentation is there..
the car value is same with KL registered car..
nothing special

if you are looking to get a cheap car, that somehow u manage to save a few bucks from tax waivers or something else, trust me, U get what u PAY for..... in other words, dont do it unless you are very very sure of the condition of the car...

You might be able to buy a car in that island and drive in KL for a certain period of time only, usually for 1 month or 3 months only, and after that, the car MUST be back in that island for the rest of the year! Unless you paid tax on it then you can bring it into KL forever, by the time yo did that, the price will be almost the same already!

Thank you All,
well the car owner had aledi paid for the import duty and im just wonder will the price be cheaper after the owner had paid the duty.

So,i think ive got the answer yet again and Million Thank you for all the ppls who share.

Thereby,i consider this topic concluded, unless there is more things to share.

P.S - Btw CMNG is there any special documents when the duty is paid? I noticed that the Custom just stamp and written the amount paid fr the duty and the date on the car reg card.

If the rules still the same until now. You can`t bring out and use the car permanently outside the island unless it`s already being USED for 5 YEARS from the date it register.
Langkawi car is all duty PAID and wht makes different is just the amount.(Eg: Sentra 60k,sold for 40plus).You might need to consider the condition of the car too. It`s land surrounded by salt sea, most car getting lot rust.

Fact: Not a lot KEDAH or PERLIS ppl buying those Langkawi car and less can see running around. :) .....Thai car is most favourite there.

Bravo...Bravo...That's a VERY good detailed info you provided..hope he is much much clearer this time...

Dear kaminari,
Is it 3 years or 5 years?i thought it was 3.correct me if i am wrong.i can't exactly recall back already after how many years did my uncle bring back his lambo diablo back to alor setar.

I think you will have to wait for at least 3 years if you want to bring your car back from USA, and get a better tax discount. Not sure have they changed the regulation this time or not...
