New Toyota Fortuner, just launched in SIngapore last month. available as 2.0 or 2.7 but i am not sure whether got 4WD or not.

Fortuner is asembled in Thai and not available even in Japan. look-a-like Harrier from behind promise good sales depends on pricing.

It is the 4th model for Toyota IMV, the other 3 are Avanza, Unser Innova and all new Hilux.

looks like a contender for CRV and Escape

btw the Innova is butt-ugly in real life

well, not really good lookin but for unser replacement its good. Unser sell like hell, and for this innova, space and cabin quality is very good indeed. Bang for the buck for space n quality.

Hhmm... RAV replacement?

i dont think Fortuner will replace RAV4 becoz even though they are similar sized SUV (RAV4 means Recreation Acitivity Vehicle, Full time 4WD), but Fortuner is meant only for ASEAN market based on the same platform as Innova and new Hilux.

remember Wish? Nadia? Ipsum? Picnic? They are all in same Midi MPV category made by Toyota to get buyers in the same pool. Just as Honda selling Accords in different versions; Accord, Ascot, Vigor, Rafaga, Cigo, Inspire, JDM, Euro spec, US spec while Toyota do the same for Corolla; Verso, Spacio, Trueno, Levin, Altis

UMW had confirmed the launching of Fortuner in 3rd quarter 2005.

cheers!

hmm... front looks like the new bulky hilux...
so this is an MPV or SUV??.. looks kinda high for an MPV...
