Dashboard Meter

Dear all,

Experiencing this problemt at the moment. Driving an Civic EJ7. My dashboard meters (the speedometer and odometer) works intermittently. What seems to be the prob? Loose cables? Anyone experience this before and what is the damage ($) like?

i have similar problem before but just the speedometer got problem.

from time to time the "Engine Check Light" will come on when the speedometer not working.

Problem solved after changing the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) that is connected to the gear box.

speedo sensor normally cost u around 200-250...
sometime oso can cause by poor grounding...

the VSS is RM150 + RM20 Labor Charge.

Just thought it wud be nice to update this thread with the solution to my problem, so somebody can refer to it if they experience similar problems.

Problem: Speedometer not working

Solution: Replace Speed Sensor

Damage: RM 150 (incl labor)
