Which will give you less headache and stick better. another point it, you use this setup in the bonet so that the smooth side will not stick Engine Oil, Dust, Water and stuff from the engine bay... It will damp sound almost as well as using the Smooth side to stick. But for the Boot space. YOu can use the foam side UP to absorb more sound. And make your bass richer or what ever purpose you want it to be. It is your choice then. Basically, this thing works not only by absorbing sound which directly hit it, it also dampens the material from vibrating which actually is the main reason why sounds are louder. my 2 cents lah..
