Hi there,

Just wanted to ask how important is the role of the HU if one decides to do a basic upgrade? (~RM500-800)

Just curious...Are there processors built into high-end HUs that allow them to produce better sound?

HEHE would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

simple answer yes

processors come in many shapes and sizes, and prices...however its not a requirement for good sound, as some of the most expensive head units are basic players but with the highest grade internal components. however, high end HU's with inbuilt or outboard processors are also very popular..

Hu-component-amp-subwoofer-wiring all link, each part will affect the other, if u change one part oni then expect superficial improvement. What u pay is what u get.

something else to keep in mind...

a system is only as good as its weakest link.... so improve the weakest part, u improve the whole system....

i also agree with start from HU, u can try alpine 9855 if u have budget, else can jump to 9887 or pioneer P80RS II directly, self tuning, then speaker, amp, lastly is wiring, it's quite hard but also interesting.
