It was Redline 75W90 GL-5 gear oil with a tube of lubeguard or something like that. After that I noticed that my gear shift was not as smooth as before. It has a very slight crunchy feeling in the mornings and at high revs. I thought it was normal until I did a bit of reading-up.Apparently, the GTT's gear box and most jap make cars takes GL-4 rated gear oil instread of GL-5. So I got my gear oil changed again today to Redline's MT-90 (75W90 GL-4) and immediately noticed the difference in the gear shift feel. Gear goes in smoothly. No more funny crunchy feeling but a whole lot poorer :dong:So guys, the next time you do an oil change at the transmission, try using the GL-4 rated oils instead of the GL-5s. Was at eneos last night and to my suprise, the do not carry any GL-4 gear oils. The closest match was the Motul ones whereby they say its compatible with both GL-4 & GL-5 & some other specificiations. Didn't want to risk it plus gear oils aren't exactly cheap.http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/800In my previous ride, a P. V6, it was very sensitive to the gear oil used. It will only take ATF-SPIII and not Dextron III. I had one time put in Dextron II by accident and the gear change was jerky. flushed the system and reverted to ATF-SPIII, everything went back smoothly.cheers !</blockquote>
