HKS is not just big, it is huge!. Our day yesterday was spent solely on the HKS manufacturing and research and deveglopment factory. It is so gigantic in size accomodating the HKS suspension division which includes the Hipermax model we're familiar with, the HKS horsepower division which manufactures turbos camshafts, con rods, crankshafts, superchargers, transmission (though not for power) and the list goes on!, the HKS Exhaust division, offices and a racing division. It also has its own HKS Museum!!

They should have named it the HKS city instead. With size comes a whole lot of people and involvement. There is a whole HKS nation dedicating their Japanese passion for excellence to the automotive legend.

This is definitely an exclusive visit. We were given an all-access pass to tour all their facilitiies. The more sections we covered the more we begin to realise that HKS isn't just an aftermarket JDM performance tuner that rebrands parts and made their name from intense marketing, HKS is in fact a standard setting automotive parts manufacturer and research company. They put even some car manufacturers to shame with their dedication and quality.

Here's an Evo X that is being done research on. It comes to no surprise that Mitsubishi's new best selling performance model will be included in HKS's performance parts line up.

Here we have an unfinished HKS con rod that will be put under the knife. Basically these things came from their moulding department that casts these parts like the transmission housings, cylinder heads and others which will go to their precision CNC machines and employees for the next step into turning what looks like a piece of moulded metal into what would turn a standard 280bhp engine into double or triple that.

HKS Museum. A trip down HKS's memory lane tell us that founder, Hasegawa-San single-handedly built his 35 year old automotive empire (with much hardship) that can be considered one of Japan's porfolio icons.

In the museum, we find Jackie Chan. How appropriate.

Amazing R34 GTR parked outside joining many others in the HKS flagshig demo cars. Nobuteru Taniguchi's Drift and Time Attack monsters were also present

Nothing they can't do. Apparently one of the things we couldn't do was to reveal the car that this engine and nautical turbo belong to, but what we can say is it's from Dubai. Specially sent down from and will be returned into something we don't what it could possibly be used for.

A HKS supercharged Z33 that have just returned from the Nismo festival. Zerotohundred.com again would like to thank Nezuka-San from Duke Racing Toyama founder of RH9 for his time and the access to the HKS factory.
