bros,

i've serviced my gen1 4g92 mivec few days ago...

1. engine oil - castrol magnatec 10/40w
2. denso iridium IK22
3. engine oil filter

that's all i've done

and i've notice a significant lost of power...

and the weirdest part is : "SOMETIMES"..alot of power drop after awhile of driving(around 30 km estimate)...

i've been trying to figure out what's the problem...even after numerous searches...

firstly i assumed too much of engine oil used...so i checked the dipstick...indeed...it's a little- just a little - around 2mm above the 2nd indent...but there's still a little left from the 4L...so i suppose it's still ok..

could it be the plugs??...or just coincidence that something else spoiled right after service....i really dont know...

fuel consumption is still ok from what i see now...just lost of power...AF ratio seems normal...same style of driving...roughly same percentage of throttle..etc..

thanks ahead,
shawn

sparkplug problem??.... or otherwise??.... remove ur plugs and see how is the condition.... here is some guide...

bro SkYwAlKeR,

the difference by assumption by my feelings is obvious....it's where i couldnt even climb at 60km/h flooring at 5th gear...(which i usually do while cruising around with 15% throttle)....well, maybe you would say it's still too high...but i still got nothing with 4th gear..same flooring...with 3rd gear..i got a little....all on a sort of levelled surface....it feels worse than a 1.3GLi carb which i use to drive...

so i went to my cheapest option...remove the plugs...and replace it with the previous plug (BKR7EIX-11)...very old plugs i assume....came with my halfcut clocked at 96K...tried it a few days...it's still ok...till now...

so i guess it's the plugs...my new question is...what's wrong with 'Denso Iridium Power 0.4mm IK22' ???
anyone using that for their mivecs 4g92??

thanks,
shawn

bkr7 is heat rating 7 from ngk right? suppose to be same as IK20. could it be that IK22 is too cold? but rarely one step colder can do such big difference ler..
