New Cars from China.

I don't think it's bad quality. How many of you really go to China before and look at their quality?

Their quality isn't bad at all compare to Msia. Needn't to say I believe their cars is much more better quality than Proton.

There are many cars being made in China. Such like VW the hottest car. Citreon, BMW, Audi, Honda, Toyota,... etc and many more.

I've seen their quality is like Japanese. The best selling of course is VW, Audi is the 2nd continental car I hv seen and follow by BMW.

Japs car like Honda, Toyota and Mazda are a lot too for middle range class.

You will be surprised to see many 740i in China. All China made BMW.

Apart from that GM release Buick is sell like hot cakes too.

Yes, hv to admit that at the moment the spare parts are limited. Well this is normal for a new products to release in a certain places. Not only cars, I believe electronic appliances.

those cars you mention are all original (VW, audi, buick etc) cars manufactured in China. what about those reverse-engineered (pasar talk - ciplak) cars by chery and others?? yeah i know china has been copying all stuff since ages, from prada bags to MiG-21 fighters to Missiles to cars... they have done it all.

if let say they bought in VW cars that made in china, same as chevy cars that bought in from korea, then the quality would be the least of my worries...

in fact this car is a join venture from chery wit volkswagen.. if i m not mistaken, still the same,MADE iN CHINA not means No GOOD Quality.. just like the NIKE Shoe u wear, also from China..evrything also hv the lifespan la... i think is much more gd than the thundercat logo la....

I personally think this is a good news. Let's not talk about the quality of this car first.

Proton now has competitors like Produa, Kia, Hyudai, and Alado. These Korean cars have less advantages because lacking of spareparts. I just hope Alado will have a way to solve this issue. Having competitor will benefit we consumers, right??

Based on a stat from 2004:
1.) Toyota ( 6 defacts out of 100 units)
2.) Honda and Hyudai ( 8 defacts out of 100 units)

As you know, proton car which assembly by many many of your brother, has been accepted althought you know how's the quality of PROTON car nowaday.

The appearance of china car's had the advantages:
1. Lower price, better quality
2. Lower maintenace cost and much better option than PROTON.
3. Encourage competition with PROTON. So proton not just the company that provide cheap car, so they will improve on da quality.

why cannot trust china's cars?we also trust proton la.....

hehee..I went to Shanghai last week..Cherry QQ is in the line of lawsuit by the GM motor. But I saw alot of this Ai60 in China..FYI the rich chinese didnt drive this kind of car!! they drive BMW and Mercs..but the most populat car is VW Santana..

take a look at the glove compartment in china version, the quality doesn't look convincing. I'll op for WAJA compare with A160, for the time being.

chery quality is still ok but i think better than proton atleast it dun produce the werid sound when riding on uneven road..i sit in chery QQ before, besides the plastics console all around, other things are fine. the basic QQ(800cc) version onli selling around $30kRMB...its about rm$15k....we dun even get a basic kancil with this price in msia...there are another 3-4 more cars in this categrory in china, and the build quality is not bad also.


this 160 could be using old mitsubishi sohc engine as other chery cars...many china cars use mitsubishi engines.

i think one of the best quality local china car is Brilliance. Brilliance cars is very much like the european cars as the manufacturer takes alo of technology from european makers...they will assembly BMW cars in china soon and Mecerdes will also start assemble in china by end of this year.

China are having about 144 car manufacturers currently and will reach a yearly production of 4.8 millions units of cars by year 2006. The local china market only consume about 2.8 millions car per year so these auto makers will need to export their cars overseas. The price of cars in china is falling as much as 17-20% for last 2 years and it will be expected to further drop another 10% this year. Also, recently china govt annoucned that the petrol price in china will reduce as much as 10%.....

FYI, it comes with optional airbag, sports alloy rims and leather seats plus a climate control system.

A160 has been selling like sweets in China itself and now there is one guy who brings China cars for Malaysia, mainly aimed for the local chinese.

Apart from that, Chery has a package of 2-year or 40,000km free maintenance. This goes the same to Honda, Mazda and Volvo etc etc... ;)
