DVVT is same with VVTi, D = Daihatsu. Juz name only. Myvi & Avanza same engine K3-VE, Myvi called DVVT, Avanza call VVTi.

all packages 660, 850 n 1000 comes in 12v DOHC DVVT, but 3 cylinders, compare to current kelisa, 4 cylinders w/out DVVT, any idea??

heard b4 from my fren, owner of kembara DVVT, once servicing need to service DVVT also, wat actually DVVT is? is it same like VVTI??

DVVT only save fuel.

DVVT stands for Dynamic Variable Valve Timing, different in name but similar to Toyota's VVTI.

it alters the valve timing angle electronically according to engine speed to produce the most optimal engine performance thus resulting superior fuel consumption.

original design was based on Alfa Romeo's concept in 1960s but Honda managed to benefit the most with their intelligent VTEC system (also including VTEC-E and I-VTEC)

DVVT (variable valve timing) is just a technology. The benefits depends on the application on a particular engine.

It can be used to make an engine more fuel efficient or better top whack or better low down grunt or smoother delivery etc. It all depends on the engineers and what they want the engine to do. Variable valve timing just gives them more options in terms of striking a balance between all those factors.
