Nissan Micra 350 SR

The Nissan Micra is a ‘cute’ little mini car. The ‘cute’ turns to brute when you pack the 350Z’s 3.5 V6 where the rear seats were. That’s right, this little Nissan has got some cojones. A mid-engine V6 in a compact car is reminiscence of something Renault would do. Wait a minute, doesn’t Renault own a considerable stake in Nissan? The Micra 350SR is the kind of corporate influence that is much more entertaining than what you normally would see on a balance sheet. Nissan says if you row the six-speed right, you can get this mighty mini from 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds. A car this light with a mid-ship V6 powering the rear wheels would provide some serious automotive fun.The rear seats have been removed to make way for the mid-mounted 310bhp engine, mated to a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox which drives the rear wheels. Nissan claims a 0-60mph sprint time of less than five seconds and a 150mph top speed.

Didn't Nissan GB do this as well? But with a less powerful engine, I think. It was in Hypertune magazine a few issues back..

If I'm not mistaken, this car was featured in autocar's magazine which is a one of project just to prove a point that the Micra is indeed a capable machine.

That is THE Nissan GB project. It runs on a ex-BTCC SR20DE from a Primera BTCC race car pushing about 265bhp with 6-speed sequential gearbox. They also said the engine can fit in front, but they wanted the midship configuration instead.

Its no longer a Micra is it. The dynamics is completely different. And because it is such a small car with a very short wheelbase and its mid-engined, it will spin around like a small dog most times.
