Big recall for X-Trails

Fri, 24 Feb 2006
Nissan Motor said on Friday it will recall 466 000 sports utility vehicles around the world to fix a defective fuel pipe at risk of leakage.
Japan's second largest automaker said that due to an inappropriate coating, the X-Trail SUV fuel inlet pipe could rust out and leak.
Nissan said it has received 49 reports on the defective pipe but had not heard of any injuries.
Of the 466 000 units, the company will recall 177 000 X-Trails sold in Europe, 142 000 in Japan with the rest in other countries. The recall affects mostly 2000 to 2004 models.

Dont know if this have any effects on Malaysian X-Trails.

Nissan is slowly building a not very nice rep for itself worldwide. Not the first mass recall they've had to make, iirc.

mass recalls happens to almost every big name.... You're lucky at least they bother to inform you about the defect..

hehe...like the Delorean in Back To the Future movie...

just close one eyes and say...no problem,it's imported car....if malaysian make we will type insults in forums night and day ok?hehehehehheheheh...

Well at least they realise their mistake and rectify it...if proton...ahahha i think they will say there is a minor problem with the fuel system but dont worry it wont produce any problem can continue using it or send back for warranty rather than saying THERE IS A LEAK IN THE FUEL LINE INSIDE THE CAR AND IF YOU NOTICE IT PLEASE DONT DRIVE IT AND SEND TO THE WORKSHOP IMMEDIATELY!!!

Here we can see the difference with major brands compared with proton...defects are always hard to say when will there will be one but recalling and repairing for the defects is always a tough job and requires time and money...you guys think proton will be very bothered???I THINK NO!!!

Doink,

I think you're too stereotypical. Proton did recall a batch of Perdana few years back due to some defective parts. It wasn't critical but at least they did. I have this feeling you're just one of those national car bashers.

I know the quality of the national cars is still quite far from satisfactory but the way i see it, every move Proton make will end up with condemnation from you.

Hehe, I just knew Proton would be dragged into this discussion, by one way or another.

Can't really blame Joe Public though. Proves to me and you and everybody else here the kind of reputation Proton built for itself.

proton recall waja cos of rims defects late last year.perdana also...dont bash without research.
