Street drifting notonly endanger the life of the drifters and also to other road users,” said AriffJohanis Ahmad from Sync_Optima Sdn Bhd.A total of 31 drifters ranging from beginners to experienced drifters registeredfor the drift session right after the promotion of the event, which started 4days ago. On top of that, the drift session attracted more than 1000 driftingenthusiasts and spectators to witness the best motorsport entertainment ever.The drift session will take place on a wet track surface. Extreme Parkmanagement had set up the sprinkle system with running waters to keep the trackwet throughout the night. The purpose is:1) to reduce the noise level2) to reduce the speed of drifting3) to enable participants, particularly the beginners to drift easily4) to cut down on tire wear5) to save the track surfaceAdding further excitement to the drift session was a superb drift finale by ourtop 2 drifters, Tengku Djan driving his Toyota AE86 also known as the“Hachiroku” and Ser Ming Hui (Fai) with his Nissan Cefiro A31. These are themost popular drift cars that are being used in Malaysia. Others drift carsincludes Nissan 180SX, Nissan Silvia S13, Nissan Laurel C33, Toyota KE70, ToyotaSoarer, Mazda RX7, Mazda MX5 and many other rear wheel driver cars.Drifting - the best in Motorsports Entertainment is a driving technique thatoriginated in Japan and has slowly made its way to Malaysia. Drifting is derivedfrom the action of a car losing traction in a corner, specifically whenover-steer is induced intentionally. While circuit racers generally avoid this,drifters embrace over steer to extend slides well before corners and well afterthem.
