hello wanna ask sony cd changer users out there, for older model (non-Xplode era) the cd changers can they play burn audio CD? heard ppl say that it can only read Original audio cds... cannot play *ahem disc also. but i wonder comp. burn cd can run or not. because looking at a 2nd hand set now.. specifically CDX-65. thanx for reply!

For general on car CD players, most of the models before 1999 that cannot read CDRs because they cannot support multispeed. Only later than 1999 they start to able to read CDRs.
But don't worry, if you try to burn the CDRs with the speed of 2X(slowest speed), maybe the player able to read, the chances are around 40-50%.

thanx for the info! hm but, well its kinda odd; im running a kenwood cd changer model dated to year 1996 (installed on 1996) but up till now can play cdR flawlessly no matter i burn at what speed, just that it does not like Imation cds lol.. considered luck? just that this cd changer no Shock proctection, small bump also skip one haha!

Yes, can considered luck I guess, or they use a better laser head that can support multispeed. Won't you feel that the bass is abit 'unreal' when you burn at high speed? I got a sub on my car, I can feel it when compare original CDs and burnt Cds.

well come to think of it, the bass part is quite correct. it sounds "druumm" instead of a solid "dum" sound. i thought its my speakers going outta range, lol i rarely purchase ori cds :p but that happens even if i burn at 4x. which is my slowest speed already lol. so it applies to All brands not only sony hu? anyone out there to share experience on cd player older than 1999 can play burnt cd or not?

So you mean that you are using mp3 to convert to CD? You should use a higher quality mp3 to do the conversion, atleast 192kpbs and above. Then the bass will be slightly solid. But still if can get an original CD sure is better. Like my collection got almost 200 original CDs. If average is rm35 per CD, it has costed me rm7000. But if compare to burnt CDs, the quality is much better..
