The stering wont function la witout the SRS system.same like U have agun but dont have da bullet.1st model Gti (which no SRS on the steering) is impact type AIRBAG.Meaning that,when x-cident occur,it will poop due to the impact cause by the ccollision.The 2nd model is SRS Airbag which the construction is more complicated.No system,no function....I know la,I own a Gti..Haiyaaa!! ;)

i own wira aeroback 1.8 Auto year 1996. Comes with airbag. can i replace the stering to this type and still get my airbag to work? Thanks

You'll have to check with the proton guys.. or EON service centers. I'm not sure if the system they are using are compatible or not. Gd Luck... and cheers!
