What is it that we don't have that we cannot do ECU remapping? electronics skills? we have electronics engineers. they can read and burn the EEPROMs. they can also do some soldering job. tuning skills? we have automotive engineers and also tuners. they have to take subjects like internal combustion and this is mandatory. you get both of them together, they can do wonders.Personally, i like to try things out. i've remapped ECU on my friend's car (B16A). he gets more mileage and better response. Do you know MegaSquirt DIY ECU? Search Google. It's far cheaper than most aftermarket ECUs. THere are automotive engineers, electronics engineers and programmers who developed the ECU. It has many features like aftermarkets have. It costs less than RM1000. In fact there are few people in MoTec USA are following the development of the ECU. RM1000 is better than RM4000!! ;)I've bought the ECU july last year (of course the complete unit :P, since I don't have much time to solder) and successfully installed it to my car (it's a 4G63T). I tuned the car myself. The car now is happy with the MegaSquirt ECU. I'm not saying i'm good and i don't do tuning job to make a living (not 100% ;)). I'm not promoting because this is my passion and hobby. I like to try things out, maybe i'm just too curious to know.I've got my own daily 9 to 5.
