2 of my ride's tyres are not properly secured because the lug nuts cannot
fit the studs anymore. The studs are damaged or something and needs replacing.
Where do i get the studs? And how much would it cost?
Thanks guys!

studs can get at any spare part shop...price will vary according to quality/brand/panjang/pendek of the studs...i change mine at a cost 20-+ per stud (price of the studs only)...at that time i get my knuckle (that what they call it...is it...??)out and go press the old stud out and press new one in at a machine shop (extra cost there)...some people say can bang it out with a hammer...some people say can DIY using hydraulic jack...

Those studs have brand also eh? Do i need to use the studs made for my car
or i can use any studs that have same length? Ohh machine shop eh? What kind
of machine shop? Thanks for the info btw.

nowdays everything got brand...IMHO studs are universal parts...can interchange between car make and model...but i believe there is a proper size...try asking the spare part shop first...if not confident...press 1 out and bring it to them as a sample...in my case...i have to change because when i bought new set of rim...the oem studs is to short...so for safety purpose...i change to longer one...

your mech should be able to help you choose the studs and if they have the proper tools press out and in...no need to send to machine shop...if need to send also...they should know where to send to get it done...

They are not the same. Got size (length) and also thread size. I think is 1.5 and 1.25 thread size, so you must get the correct ones. Your mechanic is the best person to check with, unless you are into DIY......

How do you press it out yourself? I think my studs size are 12mm x 1.5.
Is that the right size?

To press out you need to send to machine shop. Better to let them press it in also. Use hammer might damage the stud if don't go in properly......

Okay, i went to buy those studs and guess what. It wasnt the same as the
ori ones -.- i want to get sample but its hard to take it off bcs the car cant
go a long way. So, the mech repaired it by "kikis" the damaged studs and
all the nuts can fit now. Now i gotta get new nuts bcs the old ones are damaged
and cant hold it much. Thanks for info guys!

Yeaap, today i went to change tyres, rims and the nuts.
My car can finally go faster than 50 kmh :D

Was it the tyre shop that damaged the nuts/studs?
Last time mine was. They were not used to the air gun (New at that time) and they over tighten and broke the stud....:bawling:

Nope it wasnt the tyre shop. It was the alloy nuts i used.
Everyone said the same thing. The nuts look good but no use.
I wont let them use air gun, i know it could damage the studs.

Not to say air gun not good, but person using must know how to use.
Eg. Air gun tuning - must tune the tightening strength or power
They must know how to use. Even though may be tuned but cannot force at one go.
Then when screwing in the nut, must do by hand and make sure the nut turns freely, then only use air gun to tighten.
Some use air gun directly and if nut is slightly off it will damage the stud thread.....
