Okay..so this topic is an awesome one...I myself have never owned or worked on a rotary..I'm an auto tech..well graduated as an auto tech in the states..but my teachers used to tell me stories about rotaries..the way things work here in the states is that technicians(formerly known as mechanics) get quite decent money..and well one of my teachers used to work on imports..till one day he stumbled upon an FC..NA..there was supposedly something wrong with it..not sure what I cant really recall..but my teacher was lazy..so decided to change the whole engine as the car still was under warranty..so what he did was (he was about to go on break) started the car..put a brick on the accelerator and well let it rev till it blew..well 30 minutes later..it was still revving like mad..so is a rotary reliable?HELL yeah.. I myself am a believer of rotaries..awesome power..revs like mad..i watched the best motoring where the had the amemiya 3 rotor..that thing is ungodly..revs like crazy..lower rpms though a little lax in torque..but it is awesome..I mean to me if its a question of reliablitly then well hey..look, any car whatever make or model is prone to break somehow, some may break sooner than others, but if you are a true car enthusiast and lover, you will take care of whatever you own..So the rotaries need more care but in time you will love it and man the rewards of taking care of it i bet you will be insanely awesome.. As for power, come on..its a rotary..need you ask?power is there..it varies but well look..if you're making this a tuner/daily driver then well expect to spend abit..you're bound to get ur hands into that engine, as you want more speed, better response, and well the rotary does supply those needs of yours.. In the end..I think as many have said before..if you're looking for something sporty, willing to spend time and money towards it,not worried about gas consumption then go ahead get an FD i would say..I mean it looks sleek, attracts the ladies (if you're that desperate) and handles like no other, good power to weight ratio..if you are worried about gas consumption(especially)..then well don't bother with rotaries..get a motorcycle man..seriously..get a moped.. thats what i think..sorry if i offended anyone..
