I`ve just been informed by my SA that the New Swift only needs to be sent in for 1st service at 10,000km as opposed to the usual 1,000km. According to the service manual, this is true ..... question is, would you allow 10,000km worth of new grease, small metal components (as the new engine revs itself) and god knows whatever unwanted stuff to circulate around ur engine? Should the car be sent in at 1,000km?

i assume suzuki swift is "burn-in" in production/manufacturing floor. like BMW, Merz, first time service is one year or 20k km later...

yo bro...this is juz of my 2 cents la...my sister owns a swift and i'm helping her to take care of it..well i was shocked also when i found out that the 1st service is at 10,000 km...hahaha i tawt it was a typo error..so then i found out that suzuki is trying to be diff from other manufacturer's they want to be more friendly money wise...they also told me that not to worry as the new swift runs on a chain belt..so nothing much to worry la...however i have sent the car for it's 1st servicing at 8000 km mileage the SA my fren he help me for the svc la...
