[QUOTE="ABV9750, post: 1230547, member: 9375"] original suzuki use tokico as factory std.OEM parts is a kayaba.if you wanna enjoy comfort std ride, kayaba just enough.at sen hui sentul, they sell around rm140-170. i'd try it before and not much different with old one.i try monroe and its firm a little it more due to gas filled.drop down 35mm with B+G spring, the car hits harder at pitshole and ram.handling much improve and confident.with full loaded, the car still stable.i then try koni adjustable with a few setting, feel soft but stable.kmh at the hiway with bumpy road (johor area), still good. due to family concern, i change to gti spring and till now, the suspension is nice and firm.to hold the grip during cornering, 15" alloy wheels is just enough and i add a gti sway bar (original 2 doors have it), cornering even sharper, no oversteer. so when we wanna choice the best damping, we need to match all.and most important is your required set up. std comfort and stability - kayaba (oil base) firm ride and xtra stability - monroe (gas filled) xtra comfort with stability - koni damping adjustable. firm ride, comfort with xtra stability - koni with eibach / apex spring for competition - suzukisport damping adjustable and spring. (very expensive) for road use and competition - suzukisport damping with gti spring. for competition set up - hotbits ride height and damping adjustable (most popular in aussie)..pric range is Spore, sgd 1200. still cheap compare to speedwork price = rm3500. the absorber come with hotbits performance spring. other brand to avoid: local assemble absorber and spring. e.g kimex spring, koni red, GAB red, PRS ride height etc. these brand is nice during first installation and deteriorate rapidly and you loose your grip and comfort. other option: customize absorber by rebuild it. a few swifter had try but it costly.the result is depends on owner. fyi, for any brand you choose, please ensure it has a certificate. e.g TUV. this is the german toughest test.normally it can withstand for more than 5 years. e.g Koni absorber.it can last till 10 years with proper set up and care.
