sudden power loss..all sifu's!!

nop, u cant drive in tht conditions bro, if rings are new, i dnt tink u have a crank sensor, i drive a vr4 myself, so i guess it could be ur coil pack again , and please recheck wiring, make sure not short circuiting anywhere , TOP OVERHAUL is for sure not the way. Did you use the correct coil pack , used back evo's one or rojak something else bro ?

hiraga : hehehe, lucky dint follow ur step bro, he would have changed head gasket :P while the coil pack is actually burnt lol :driver:

mech said he got a evo 1 for pinjam le..how do i know its a evo 1 or rojak coil pack bro..
and guess wat now the mech also said that theres bubbles coming out in radiator....head gasket blown it seems..hai.. feeel like shuttin him up...wil take the car to diff mech tomorrow...short distance to drive no prob rite..

just go get a 2nd opinion, if its headgasket, just open up n change it, it wont cost very very very much, headgasket is around rm200 for a metal one :D

bro cars actually using high cams...will the compression ratio vary once head is opened...??
wat is the ori evo coil pack model..??

EDIT: OOPZ, didn't read the threads before posting hahaha...

My take. Its electrical fault. No need to open up the engine. As you've described, it was working perfectly after the ignition coil has been changed. And then it starts acting up again i.e. ignition coil problem re-occuring, some electrical fault is causing that.

But then again, if your mechanic said, the ignition coil is working fine and he wants to do an overhaul, then its up to you. If there is something wrong internally as people mentioned earlier, changing an ignition coil won't solve the problem, it'll still run like before. Its logic..

Edit:
Anyway, since you're seeing bubbles in the radiator... does it have oil in it? Maybe you've blown the gasket but you might not. Worth a change if it hasn't been change before. If you don't mill the head and deck the block and use the same new gasket, compression won't be off by much.

Good luck.
