sorry again for the noob question..
wanted to change to sport rim..
14" or 15" suits best in satria 1.3?
wider rim = more fuel isit?
thanksss

bigger rim = more fuel

if urs is stock 1.3L engine, best fit max 15" rims la... bigger can fit la, but will be underpower and increase fuel consumption....

imagine your tyre grip to tar surface or use your hand to experience it.
Try to use one finger to paste on your house cement and rub hardly on it. You will feel like nothing except your finger is dirty. Ok now, what about 2 fingers? Is it become harder? what about 3 fingers? harder than 2 fingers?

If answers for above are yes, then now back to your tyre. Let say 1 fingers wide is 175, same as your original tyre wide. 2 fingers are 185, bigger than your original tyre wide by 10mm. 3 fingers are 195, bigger 20mm. When the tyre wide become more and more wider, your car will need more power to move. Then come to a concept,

more power = more fuel

Come to a conclusion, bigger rim will affect more fuel consumption. But one benefit you gains from bigger rim, your car will be more stable while doing sharp turn.

Happy modding!

Above comment(s) or suggestion(s) are only my opinion.

how if u change to 16" light weight rims? it won't effect much rite?

another way to look is imagine riding a bicycle.

the "racing" bike and mountainbike. Even if both having similar weight, the racing bike will always be faster due to the smaller tyre while the mountain bike requires much more effort.

same goes with the car and that directly relates to FC.

Suggest you go for 14" with 185/60/14 tyre.
Power not going to lose much as well as increase better handling a bit.

thanks for the advise guys.
i guess better i stick to stock,or 13/14" sport rim..
thanks alot !!

hi guys, now i decided to consider on buying a set of sport rim.. for 1.3 owners, what is it like to have 15" sport rim? got any diff with ur stock 13" (FC,handling,performance).. thanks

didn't have one, but sit in one before and asked the owner about it, difference is:

- looks nicer ofcourse
- power gets even worse, as if its not bad enough already
- fc goes up a little bit (probably because step on throttle more to get usable power)
- can corner faster cuz more grip (cuz can use wider tire, not about the rim)
- long distant driving seems like abit more stable.
- if rim too nice scare to park at dark places cuz scare rim theft.

thats what i'm told lar.. but i dunno about them myself.

power decreases quite noticeably.. feels much more stable while driving at high speeds though.. fc increases slightly.

bigger rim u will lose ur pick-up....feels harder when climb hill.....fc will goes up abit.

but u can take corner better, car loos nicer...

if u lower ur ride, much more better :)

i will vote for 15inch, and after fitting the rim. i bet u will look for some minor modification, which can help to improve ur car performance...hehe

ahrtheohs,
Not yet change the rim??
My opinion still suggest you go for 14"...
haha, depends on you la. 15" oso nice. I just change my rim for kelisa from ori 14" to 13". But tyre wide increase a bit from 165 to 175. FC increase a bit le... but handling better a lot!
Seems like you eager for 15", just go for it la. hehe~ ^_^

haha bro,not eager to go for 15" lah. i want 14" but i surfed at the markeplace, only got a few 2nd hand 14" with nice design.. FC increase abit? like how? (previously 70km now 50km?)

wat if u put steel rim?if in my case;i would buy 2 pcs of 14" steel rims and 2 pcs 15" steel rims.then asked the shop to spray.wat is ur car colour?chose a colour which suit the body.put the smaller size at front wheel, bigger for rear wheel.steel rim is lighter than cap ayam sport rim.so ur power won;t sacrify so much.

I'm using 15" sport rims on my 1.3 GLi Wiras.About fuel consumption,RM 65 can go about 560-580 km on the highway speeds (80-100km-h) seriously.

ahrtheohs brother,
can feel that slightly. I tested and checked, around decrease 40km per full tank.
em... quite ok la. If I drive "normally" maybe not decrease that amount.
