kamfu, The journey from KL to Phuket and back took the entire convoy 4 days in total.(Travelling days). Let me just explain briefly to you how a long journey convoy works especially those involves travelling overland...It's not a soft and slow drive with lots of sight seeing and stopping... for shopping and food...We have very tight schedule to keep up and that's the reason for travelling at such high speeds From KL to the border with police escorts we travell at the average speed of 180km - 210km and from the boder onwards the Thai police will take over as escorts and speed are then reduced to 140 - 160 on Thai B roads (not highways) so that converts to high speed driving for the entire journey..To and Fro.. The only time we do stops is for petrol & food, toilet breaks are usually done during fuel stops...or food stops. Never in between..You get left behind...The convoys stops for no one and for no reason.... We drive from 9am till late evening around 8pm - 9pm...Fuel consumption was good too compared to other GTI's in the convoy...So there is no qualms about this issue...as far as the members of the GTI convoy and the president of the club is concerned...They are very concern with force induction cars tagging along during such trips as they tend to encounter problems and consume more fuel compare to other cars in the convoy. So like what mkjb mentioned earlier, we have proven many people wrong for many mis-conceptions pertaining to superchargers, the kit and it's related parts from doing this trip and it seems that Penang to me is rather "not far" as compared to Phuket which is of course in Thailand.....On the high speed issue you constantly stress about, let me assure you that this sc kit will take you there ( the speed you want) at least twice the time faster than your na car with mild modds....That's a strong assurance I can assure you.... Hope that answers your question pertaining to long distance driving and it's speed. Let me just add too that the statement you made with regards to "KURA-KURA' can also do a trip from KL to Phuket, to me is rather naive...May I ask, have you ever try such an overland trip before???. Or at least to Phuket?....with any car clubs???. Cos if you have done it then it would be better if you confirm it as that will re-inforce that "Kura-Kura" statement of yours... Regards gerard
