[QUOTE="ABV9750, post: 727011, member: 9375"] Hi alan, first of all, you must know the suspension link use at each car you mention.GTi was born in 80's and that time, independent arm is the best setting.till now you will find the GTi with harder spring and absorber will produce tremendoes cornering ability (2 doors). what make this to happened? look at the AE86 rear drive? perfet with the engine!! but with big turbo, you'll be always oversteer. OK..back to the question, GTi handling is suit for competition. they are not design for comfort.better handling? YES but with harder damping. you must realise this and take it as it's genuine GTi.compare to Honda 90's the suspension is improve bcoz of independent Link suspension..this have improve the unprung weight.but handling, still the same...you must have the harder suspension setup. like WAJA,KIA and newest car.they are very comfort in low speed but in high speed, the APM absorber in WAJA-V6 Perdana is really stuck. OK..straight to the point: you must ensure your 4 suspension arm is in good condition and your steering mechanism in good shape. . for gti, use Koni adjustable with Eibach spring. koni must be at 1/2 firm. BUT this is for road use handling. competition, set koni to 3/4. another option: adjustable hotbits set. very nice for competition but road use, you must set the damping to the softest. Suzukisport also nice with suzukisport thick spring. use for competition. don't use chop/press spring coz your car bodyroll will be worst. Tyre/wheel should use 40 offset. the wheel should be nice at the fender. use light wheels and just 15" better..14" wheels with 195/50 tyre also good. if you're cornering maniac, i suggest you change your front sway bar to cultus size and install additional rear sway bar (Note: 2 doors already have this)..each time you enter corner, the 4 tyre are always grip well. LSD?? also recommended but hard to get. Std cultus are already 30% LSD. if you got chance, replace all your arm bushing with polypropylene type. you can get it from Rospen Aussie.. FACT: best handling-comfort = porche / supercar best handling-worst comfort = rallys car average handling - average comfort = sedan so which one do you prefer...you can get all you need but Bigger BUCKS!
