Tac tac tac

Good day fellas,i'm driving corolla 1.6 seg 1997,manual.My engine is running good and smooth but the problem is if i'm driving at the speed slower than 50km/h(weather in 3rd or 4th or in 5th gear position),there is a continuious tac tac tac sound coming from under the hood,80% from the engine when i press my gas pedal and accelerate untill i reach a certain speed,then the sound will gone.Such problem do not exists if i'm accelerate while i'm still in 1st and 2nd gear position!! I search on the internet,and it's probably cause by something called "ENGINE KNOCK"!!I would like to know if anyone out there have experienced the same thing and is there any solution that i can do to fix it?Please don't tell me to trade my car with a new one,lol>THANKS!http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/images/smilies/gtnsmilies/adore.gif

Hi, you can try to retard your ignition timing by adjust the distributor to lower degree to reduce the knock, or you have to pump Ron97 or higher octane fuel to reduce the knock.
