Is it possible? according to my mechanic.. it shouldn be a

problem transplanting Evo engine to Hyundai Coupe.. but one

of my friend just told me that

we can't put different company's engine to another..

let's say we can't transplant Evo engine into Hyundai or

Honda.. is it true?

Nowadays everyone says it's difficult to get approval

from transplanting..

anyone did transplant a engine from different company?

yeah, JPJ don't like it when you 'crossbreed' the car.

About the technicalities, wouldn't be as problem free as your mechanic have you believe. Especially if you decide to change the drive of your coupe as well.

From what I remember the coupe' engine bay seems very snug. So you might have to relocate some stuff to fit the EVO engine. Not to mention the usuals, like new engine mounts and maybe even trans and drive.

And also, make sure you have some space left to put in a bigger turbo :D

When I was checking out Coupes last time I found out that they have the same engine mounting points as the latter Evo engines... hence a very popular mod in Thailand.
If I remember correctly la.

Theres been a sucessful transplant....its a black Hyundai coupe with an EVO4 engine in it...

if my memory keeps me right i have read a mag tat there is a taiwanese transplant the evo engine to the coupe itself so i think shud not b a problem at all ... well from the past issue of hypertune there is one felo drop a SR20DET into a BMW...

i read it in KERETA magazine a few years back. the owner is a penangite. dunno still same owner or not

that should be tony5050(speed d owner) ex car...

DJ-LanEvo3,

You can transplant EVO IV (or above) to Coupe (because of the reserve engine design).
One of the Hyundai Coupe member in the club have his 4G93T installed, 205 hps.
And I know the mech who did that transplant.

BUT, a big BUT for you, according to the mech, NONE of the mouting point match with Coupe's. It's a heavy mod.

And make sure you upgrade the breaking system as well, the 4G93T Coupe owner has 4 pots RX7 break installed to have a better breaking for that monster engine.

Lot's of thing you need to taking care of,
PM me if you were like to have the transplant, I can give you the contact of the mech. or maybe we can arrange meet up with the Mech for the discussion of the transplant.

and Yes, Tony5050 ex car is another Hyundai Coupe with EVO engine installed, and he sold his Coupe. :D

btw, have no clue about the JPJ site. :D

Happy modding :D

any korean or eurpean cars can put in japanese car's engine......this is one of d act i read las time......if til now stil not changed..then u can change

my fren....chevroleet with 7M-G supercharged......merecedes with supra engine.....passed

What about lots of old school's with SR20DET?? It's crossed-breed too.

Proton = mitsubishi
Perodua = Daihatsu

proton only approved for mmc engine n perodua for daihatsu engine..no nissan engine, no toyota engine...etc

who said cannot?
PRoton also put in mitsu engine lar
Produa also put in daihatsu engine lar
BM also put in Nissan engine lar
Toyota also put in Nissan engine lar
Ford also put in Mazda engine lar

I don't see whats wrong with hyundai putting in mitsu engine... especially since the old model hyundais actually USES MITSU ENGINES AS WELL!! Kinda like proton... started out using Mitsu engines before they developed their own.

Even till today, the Hyundai Sonata engines are actually Mitsubishi designs and essentially a Mitsubishi engine. The Mtsu spare parts can be used on the Hyundai engine as well.

Theres a BMW in KL, yellow one, owned by a police inspector or something, running a RB26DETT or RB25DET.. cant be sure, i saw it when i was 15. I just know back then that my friend mentioned the engine was out of a Skyline..hahaha

Was an amazed kid back then.. :D

Hyundai also J/Ved and borrowed Mistubishi's technology when they started to make cars back in the 70's.

I've seen Coupe Tiburon with EVO4 and Scoupe with VR4.

Unlike the old days (Mercedes + Nissan, Jaguar + Toyota, Saga + VTEC, etc, etc), cross breeding is no longer allowed now.

bro u selling your car ar ??i tot u already transplant 4g15 ??

try here

http://www.cardomain.com

got few hyundai turboed...

is it still able to campur kahwin???
i though that jpj would not allow us to do it d.

if going by the book, everything also cannot do.

But what would you think JPJ would do if you build a custom one off? I mean, you can comply with all the road safety standard and all. But would the ordinary man in blue knows it at the road block?
