There are a couple of factors that play somewhat importance in determining when boost kicks in. The size of the turbine (if its too big then your engine has to produce more exhaust to spool- in many cases ppl call it lag), manifold (are they equal length? divided?) these manifolds determine the dissipation of spent gases into exhaust, is your exhaust restrictive? Tuning (what management?)Without becoming to technical, a 2.4kcc car will spool the same turbo 20% faster than a 2.0kcc car (all being equal) how 2.0kcc people match this is by porting perhaps to increase the amount of exhaust which in turn spools the turbine.</blockquote>
