HI guys,

Just wondering is Nissan BlueTop VVL is faster than 20V BlackTop VVT?

As VVL is 175hp & VVT 165hp...

Nissan is faster but their chassis design not good, b14 using torsion beam design and nissan halfcut price now is quite high

if im not mistaken...the vvl engine have the highest power output in 1.6 category...(if comparing to honda b series and toyotas engine)

This engine is the SR-16-VVL 'bluetop' and they make about 175hp from the factory. There's a similar N1 version that has a red coloured cam cover and they're reported to make 197hp. There's only suposed to be about 400 bluetops and 80 redtops made, and they were fitted to the faster versions of the Nissan Pulsars in Japan.

but engine power alone is not the key...other factor also come into play...for example weight.

hmmm...based on the engine spec...

BT20V
Max power - 165 ps (121.36 kw) / 7800 rpm
Max torque - 16.5 kg*m (161.81 N*m) / 5600 rpm

SR16VE
Max power - 175 ps (128.71 kw) / 7800 rpm
Max torque - 16.5 kg*m (161.81 N*m) / 7200 rpm

B16A
Max power - 170 ps (125.04 kw) / 7800 rpm
Max torque - 16.0 kg*m (156.91 N*m) / 7300 rpm

The engine out put are more likely the same...
only 20V need less effort to gain the max torque...

but then...power to weight ratio...engine weight...handling and so all...like you guys said...need to counted as the key factor too...

but then due to the SR16 limited production...i'm sure it's hard to find here...left alone the performance parts...

plus not all engine produce will have the same power output...plus most of this engine are already being "rogol" in japan only then bring back here...sooo...can't say much...

but i don't think most nissan guys will stay on N/A ... :D
for sure they'll go for "siput" power...

my 2 cents...

the price for SR20DET h/c more cheap then SR16 Neo....
and SR20DET more powerful.....

In numbers it will be them infront 4age blacktop
they are same as b16a but the timing application of both valve is not the same
the fuel valve vill open at 5000 then exzos at 7000 (something aroud that)
that why they said "bukak 2 kali"

Err those no idea on 16VE, dont confuse those not familiar with 16VE
later can cause people fighting for unknown reason

overall N15 SR16VE is standard production car
which is easy available at halfcut shop
price range around RM5k to 6k which is everything will bolt on to B14 chasis

The Limited edition N1 which is targeted 600 unit ( 300 first series, 300 second series )
but only sold total 3xx unit only since the price tag during that time you can do up a 2.0 EK9 spec car
N1 halfcut is costing around 12k nowday and it very rare

Performance part is a bit limited but you rarely need it since most of the owner
have stroked the 1.6 to 2.0 easily. no need to spend super high $$ for 2.0 stroker kit

DET and VE is similiar and DET have more potential since it come in as turbo charged
but a lot of hidden cost on DET conversion which many people not aware of it

16VE potential is higher if you thinking on turbo charging it since as standard it come with 280 degree cam

overall for 1.6 to 1.6 standard
all this engine is lan lan pa pa saja between manufacturer
it up to owner to work on it such exhaust, header so on to see who the best
as well what car you drive and you like

just to add...b16a type R from the ek9 produces 185hp....so actually honda has higher powerfigure if we exclude the limited edition 16VE

i got saw the SR16VE "N1 spec" halfcut once at Onward motorsport puchong when i working there before... its realli very rare species... when got delivery there, many ppl come to check for it....:adore:
