Washington, June 26 : Superstar wrestler Chris Benoit killed his wife and young son over the weekend, and then committed suicide on Monday.
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. has reported on its website, WWE: Homepage, that the bodies of Chris, Nancy, and seven-year-old Daniel in their home in Atlanta, Georgia.
The website also states that lead investigator Lt. Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that the deaths were the result of a double murder-suicide.
The former World Heavyweight Champion was to appear at a pay-per-view event on Sunday night, but a "family emergency" prevented him from being there, said the website.
Several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning prompted concerned friends to alert Richard Hering, the VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. who then spoke to Fayette County sheriffs Monday.
The post-mortem of the bodies will be performed on Tuesday.
Quoting the official WWE website, TMZ has reported that tonight's "Raw" will serve as a tribute to Benoit.
Benoit's demise comes just days after the shocking death of former WWE wrestler "Sensational" Sherri Martel on June 15.

i guess that fella took too much steroids and have a steroid burst..

Well Chris Benoit is a wrestler of WWE. Last time he wrestled in ECW before the company folded.

In WWE he used to have a good friend in Eddie Guererro another wrestler, who also died last year due to substance abuse.

Its a lost to wrestling fans really. But because he died under these circumstances, its hard to support him or hate him. As a wrestler, he is quite good really.

I seen him from the 90's when he was with a group called the 4 horsemen. A collective of best wrestlers that time.

Cannot deny that many wrestlers are on drugs.
