It’s with much anticipation that the 2012 Nissan GT-R is awaited for to hit the streets, and Nissan have teased us with some sparse but telling details on the model.

The most important details would be the 0-100km/h sprint time, or precisely, the 3-seconds it takes for it to do so.

Testing was conducted at the Sendai Hi-land Raceway in Japan a couple of weeks ago in the middle of November and the extremely pleasing results were returned.

The sprint test was done twice for confirmation in differing tempratures with both runs returning the same 3-seconds flat time. The outside temp for the first run was 14.9°C while the following run was done at a slightly higher temp of 18.6°C.

A standard showroom spec GT-R was used for the testing with no modifications whatsoever. That means the time was achieved with the reworked 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that now pushes out 530hp with 661Nm of torque.

The graph is a little fuzzy and for those lacking 20-20 vision, it's 3-seconds for the century sprint (62mph) and 2.9-seconds for the 0-60mph run.
