Chevrolet begun their defence of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) for the 2011 season by taking the top three spots in the first round that was held in Curitiba, Brazil, recently. As such, Naza Quest, the sole distributor for the Chevrolet brand in the country, has launched the Chevrolet Cruze Special Edition that is inspired and pays homage to the WTCC car.
The Cruze Special Edition comes with a custom body kit with full skirts all-around and a rear lip spoiler. The front lip spoiler brings the car lower to terra firma, adding an aggressive stance to the car. The body kit is complemented by 18-inch alloy wheels at the four corners that are wrapped in some low-profile Falken rubbers for added grip.
Finishing off the exterior are LED signal repeaters on the wing mirrors and window visors to sharpen the outlook of the car.
On the inside, the seats are wrapped in leather with red stitching for a sporty feel. The scuff plates feature an illuminated Cruze logo that lights up when the doors are opened.
Power comes from the same 1.8-liter Ecotec engine that is in the standard Cruze and is untouched, pumping out 140hp and 176Nm of torque that is sent to the front wheels via the six-speed automatic gearbox.
Naza Quest is giving the Cruze SE a touch of exclusivity by limiting its numbers to just 300 units. Pricing starts from RM97,888 and is accompanied by a three year/100,000km warranty. The Cruze SE is now available from all the 18 Chevrolet dealers nationwide.
