Hello everybody,
I would like to ask is that any way for my car to save more efficient fuel?
As my current car which is Proton Iswara Aeroback Manual a petrol of RM50 just can drive around 200km only or less than that. If not mistaken, my rpm always around average 3000 rpm. Is it normal? My this car is really petrol eater. :bawling:

Do you mean your idling is at 3,000rpm? LOL If so adjust your idling timing.

The TS must've meant driving below 3k rpm all the time already.
Anyway if 50rm of fuel gets 200km, that means it's 1ltr:7,6km which is pretty thirsty for a 1.5ltr normal engine.
Are your normal routes always heavy jam? If so then no wonder.
What you can try is check the air/fuel (lambda) ratio using gas analyzer from the exhaust. If want fuel efficiency, the lambda should be >1. Check also your ignition timing, try to advance as much as possible until right before knocking. Note that your engine is already pretty old, so old engines usually also consumes much more fuel.

Idling at 3,000 rpm is NOT normal !

Ask your POMEN to adjust it to 1,000 rpm without aircond running and 800 rpm with aircond running...

Theres a screw to adjust but ive forgotten where it is...

if he still doesnt come back....then i have to close his thread

Hello, everyone, I've known nothing about car. Anyone can recommend me where to service or teach me how to check with my current car? I mean when I usually driving in average motion it''s always at 3000rpm ++. I never had a hit before between 800rpm to 1,500rpm.

What is POMEN? Where is the service I can trust? I don't want to get cheated. :(

Well, should start by getting the car serviced and tuned first. If you are near Puchong, then I can let you have my mechanic's address...

Gas analyzer is available at workshops.

It is easy to use?
...QUOTE]

It's a big equipment for workshops to use, normally not for everyone to buy and use themselves (I'm not aware if there's portable cheap ones for DIY). So just go to workshops and ask them.
