almera is good for people who wants a decent reliable ride from A to B...
the same target market of the vios...
so lets see almera vs 2013 vios... who sells better...
if u buy almera/vios to corner baring or drag race... then the issue is u, not the car...

Still the tyres are not the good performance ones....
VW, unless GTi also puny tyres mah! eg....205/55R16 in Jetta

they did some product improvement as the previous polo with 15" rims seems too "bare" for a 115k car...
so they added foglamps and upsize the wheel to 17" and add in a couple of other enhancement... if i remember correctly, the price went up a little bit...
those polo without foglamps are of the earlier batch....

My lexus CT came stock with Advan A460 tire...
new mazda 6 2.5 using 19"![]()

IMHO big rims doesn't always equal better. Too big can actually makes it slower and handles worse as the tires become too thin and harsh, hence prone to hopping/skipping and handling too nervous on uneven surfaces instead of gripping, absorbing the bumps, and progressively slide.
The Polo should've just use max 16' while the Mazda 6 should max just 17'. Sometimes I feel car manufacturers also simply follow the trend. Many are too infatuated with the 'oh so awesome' huge rims, so they just follow with their offerings. Only like 5-10 yrs ago, the rally rocket Lancer Evos (V-IX) came with a std 17' but now a small normal hatch like Polo already comes with 17'! Mercs C63 AMG with monstrous 6.2ltr V8 came out with 18' rims, now just an ordinary 2.5ltr Mazda 6 already comes with 19'?! That's why to me some newer car offerings today are simply ridiculous and make no sense, all to obsessed with just the appearance, which IMHO also does not necessarily look better too!

Some car owner don't even know what they are getting into. Even some friends when they got their Lancers with 18" rims, wah! very nice and then 2 years later contact me and said wah! 18" tyres so expensive one ah! Some change down to 17" and some even to standard 16"....

Yeap, the Lancet GT & Cruze I also noticed already. Lancer Evo X using 18' but Lancer GT with only half the power and normal brakes also follows using 18'!![]()
Even before tires finished, some people also start to complain that after some time the ride feels stiff then thinking to downgrade the size.![]()

While there are Lancer GT owners downgrading their rim size, I've seen several Inspira owners 'upgrading' their rims to the 18" Lancer GT rims. Even Lancer GT owners complain about 18" tyres expensive but Inspira owners still going for it.![]()
That's why my sis's bf want to downgrade to 17" LOL!

Hehe..go see la what tires they are using. More than likely, it's some unheard brand bought on the cheap..
Already a few months on, so far I have not yet heard him complain though, maybe not yet, or maybe some do have high tolerance for harsher ride. PS3 is also a relatively comfortable tire with softer sidewall. If I were to buy a Lancer GT, I'd personally request downgrade to 16' rims from the beginning!
