Lucky you.

Sadly not much of good shops around nowadays. Everyone with a little bit of skill want to open own shop & employ freshies & try to train them. Best part is the 'trainer' himself is only half pail of water

mine came with a 7 yr warranty if any bubbles appear watsoever.
luckily i didnt buy from groupon.

btw for your case, were they tint specialist of just an ordinary accessory shop?

I don't recommend such buy deals for car tint, detailing, and holiday packages because of the inferior products/services they give, not necessarily always because of scam or fake items. At the end, you have to weigh the low price and the possibility of receiving low quality work or item.

Yup, have heard of many stories regarding tint and auto detailing deals. Asking buyers to upgrade and so on. Holidays deal had not heard of any complaints so far....

Your tint total 6 windows? or 4?
How much?

I did my VR tints in Taman Megah, (Soundview). First round (Solar Gard) lasted 8 years and I re-tint there again (Extreme Cool) lately. To me, their workmanship is good. May be a bit more expensive but have warranty. My friend did his car there too, had slight complaint on front tint and they redo for him....:driver:

Tint specialist.

Avoided accessories shop as my last tint was done in accessories shop & it took whole fucking day because they keep stopping to do other accessories installation & the workmanship wasn't that good & they killed my battery by leaving all the internal lights (cabin + reading lights) on for > 7 hours.

Came with 5 years warranty but fucked up places like this, I won't really want to return to them for touch up / replacement / warranty.

Is it just me, or have you guys seen an increasing number of cars on the road with bubbles on the tint especially that on the rear window, such as this:

http://www.christopherteh.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/bubble.jpg

I have also seen wavy tint or orange peel such as this:

http://www.christopherteh.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/orangepeel.jpg

Also seen is creased or folded tint on the side windows. And these low quality tints are just limited to cheaper cars but also to some expensive cars.

Why it this happening? Are people so ignorant of low quality tints?

Hahaha..........real smart alec tint shop owner, drive BMW pay more for the same tint, what logic is that? Seriously, a lot of shops / workshops out there does that, applying surcharge depending on what car you drive. I guess they got the concept from our boys in blue / white.

High cost of living is guess. To a lot out there, as long as still can use, uselah, why waste money to replace.

Option : I guess you were just unlucky. I would do my stuff with shops with reputations like CV Audio. They take very good care of your car and usually work on a car full time if you're next in queue. All my stuff was done at CV Audio Uptown Damansara and EA Autoworks. Both highly recommended shops.

Both at Uptown D'sara?

Used to frequent a number of accessories s/ workshop that are very reliable with great service but sadly after being away from KL for a couple of years earlier, when i came back they have either retired / moved / closed shop & unable to contact them further. From there, just have to trial & error to find good ones.

Nowadays really a lot of bad shops out there who can't even perform a simple task of installing a light bulb properly.

CV Audio Uptown Damansara is a branch from the CV Audio brand. The other place is in Old Klang Road and one other in Kepong. I only frequent the Uptown branch and deal with Peter (the boss) only. Their workers know me now and they do all sorts of things for me as a favor or something so sometimes I get lots of additional goodies for free or get quick fixes or something free. Their service is top notch and are quite customer friendly. Some might say that they are a little on the more expensive side (perhaps 30 to 80 more expensive compared to others) but their final results make them worth the price. They specialize in expensive marques and have solutions for BMWs, Mercs and even have worked on the R35. All happy ending stories. They specialize in tints and ICE.

EA Autoworks is in Bukit Jalil and they are more well known for mechanical mods (I deal with Drex most of the time). They take a lot of pride in their work and their final result is usually evident of their sometimes almost-arrogant attitude to their quality of work. You should see his handiwork with flush DRL installations. Howie is their ICE and alarm guy and I like his handiwork with alarms and electronics work. I've never done ICE with him as ICE is subjective in terms of sound and my taste in sound is 'unique'. But they have plenty of good feedback on their ICE work as well.

Personally - I think it's essential to build a rapport with the accessory shop you go to. They will look after you more if you do and sometimes having a friend as a customer means they'll give you priority which is always a good thing.

The shop I go to is sort of our sub dealer. Yup, more expensive but good work (to me at least) so normally just do whatever I want only as he will try to hard sell to me other things...hahaha:rofl:

The orange peel is particularly dangerous because it distorts viewing.

Bubbles the same. I think can hardly see out......:banghead:

Well, for those of us who really take are of our ride would definitely get things fixed a.s.a.p on the first sign of problem.

Those who leave it to the condition shown is the photos are generally retards who wouldn't care much. Now since when to retards look / see where they drive?

heat resistance ok la because bmw windows already has some special coating for UV rays, thats y i opted for a reasonable tint, can afford those vkool, llumar etc....
for your persona rm160 can choose 2-3 colors if not mistaken.
