Yes, i understand that Honda AT is very particular with the ATF, to play safe just routinely change with its own brand of ATF.
However there are some good brand of full synthetic multi ATF like Motul/Redline/Amsoil claimed to be compatible with Honda Z1/DW1, so do you guys use it in your Honda ?

My friend using Pennzoil Multi vehicle ATF, but if you are changing atf brand, best is to do a full flush, not just an oil pan change..

Anyone using or friend experienced honda Z1/DW Ultra ?
wow, wondering how many liters of new ATF need to flush out all the existing atf ?
vr2turbo, did your friends leave any comment on Pennzoil multi aft ? how does it compare to Honda Atf ?
VblueskyV, motul is too expensive but good oil indeed. I used it Motul 1a at myvi, really feel the difference! the gear shift very smooth!

My friend switch because the Honda ATF were getting too expensive. He is still using therefore I think should be fine with him.
Reading many feedbacksw from forums and friends, I gather that many who mix the atf to use seems to have more problems. Either luck or timing, many got gb problems and damage. Could be due to atf not compatible that is why I recommend full flush if changing brands. My friend's Honda did a full flush.
Anyway, to what I know many recommend oil pan atf change every 20k km, and a flush at 60k km, means every 20k km change, and every 60k km flush....
Seen my mechanic flush for many of his clients and I asked before he says need 12L.
Pennzoil Multi vehicle atf is much cheaper. Look out for UMW warehouse sales. I remember buying for my friend at RM66 for 4L.....

Hi vr2turbo, i plan to use Pennzoil multi ATF and dont want to mix existingZ1/DW with others. So, can you guide me how your mechanic flush out the honda ATF so i can use other brand of ATF. thanks...

Mechanic of course uses his atf machine. Same procedure if you can DIY. Have to remove the atf hoses. One is IN and the other is OUT. Start engine Feed in new atf into IN hose as Old Atf comes out from OUT hose. While doing I remember him shifting the gears to activate the gear box. Once new atf starts coming out from OUT hose, he stops, then fit back the hoses. After all done up recheck the atf level...Hope this helps

If DIY you can seek help from bro. Izso....
