Depends what type of wax? If for protection type wax, they do not have cleaning power.
Better to use polish but it all depends on what is to be cleaned off....

If it's not chrome then just use autosol or equivalent lor....like vr2 mentioned, some spray wax has no cleaning power. And this thread shouldn't be in car talk I guess
