Great Wall Haval M4 - <RM50k

I have never been to China but a Matrade officer whom stayed there said China auto maker have all sort of design which most of them have similar design like Merc, BMW, even Ferrari.
Just imagine if they send those vehicle here....out of nowhere our road will be flooded with "luxury" car.
I's be going for "AMG E55". Although the engine will most probably a 2 liter only.
All priced abt 100k plus. Darn...its hard to ignore.
U want a Furrlari for 150K?

Also bring in all those small/mini city car and give incentive for those whom enter/use it in the city.

On the Haval, i still think it should come in 4x4 guise.
That is the reason why people still hold on to their Kembara despite the terrible fc.

But my mechanic have 2 clients mod their kembara to 2WD.....
My Chery Tiggo also running 2WD (FWD)

For the Kembara it become FWD or RWD?
Some even does a butch job by removing the front drive axle and sealing shut the front drive from the GB. Dunno how they do it but 100% drive to the rear. Too bad its a butch job and most of the time leak will occur.

I even saw a FWD CRV. The rear drivetrain was completely removed.
The car was higher than usual at the rear which allow me to see clearly no drivetrain in the rear.

Those 2wd conversion is for 100% Tesco car...
I was tempted to remove the front axle on the Pajero but there is this addictiveness when driving on 4x4 mode when the going gets tough.

China is a very very big market man.
All luxury brands are racking in tons of profits.

I recall sometime ago BMW had a lawsuit against a Chinese manufacturer that had blatantly copied their X5 design.

One other thing about China is if you want to sell your car in China and setup shop there, you have to provide a copy of the designs of the cars you want to sell there to them. That's why you don't see the latest cars there or too much variety. Because in a very very short time it'll be copied.

I think even the Persona is sold there but under a different name and manufacturer. Proton can't get into that market so they JV with them which is quite smart.

Many, even 5 series if not mistaken. Honda CRV also, but in China you cannot sue them unless they sell out of China, right?

Youngman lol.

Golden question... will the power windows on great wall fail?

Is the Great Wall after all, won't fail or fall that easily.
I think compare to Proton, I think many would pick this over proton.

I bought this car & is now waiting for its delivery. What I couldn't figure out was the model I purchase is comfort & comes with reverse camera & navigation. The stereo in the dash doesn't seem like it could display the reverse camera video or navigation. Anybody has successfully tried them? The sales person selling the car got no clue how to get it to work as well while in the showroom.

If you have a reverse camera, on the stereo you must activate the camera input...

Then make sure when you collect the car, check the specs and compare with a brochure or spec sheet. Also you will want to read the user manual to make sure the provisions are correct. Lastly, take pic of your new ride and share it here with us :driver:

That's kinda like taking a gamble? I mean the sales person couldnt get it to work and he told u that or the specs sheet did state that it has reverse camera but then u bought it still when the sales person fail to get it work?

Should get it work and really satisfy with what the car has before buying than worrying now actually. :listen:

I know it sound kinda stupid of me as to how can one buy a car without properly testing it...but I bought the Haval M4 not because it had reverse camera or GPS. The attractive pricing plus reasonable driving refinement & dynamics of the vehicle is more than enough to get me to buy even without all these gimmicks. All my cars have these long ago since every after market accessory shop can install them. Just that after purchasing, I'm now away on a project & don't have time to revisit the showroom to retest the GPS & camera.... and I was hoping some members here would have gotten their 1st batch cars & could provide some input.

Anyway I will surely update all when mine arrives in Nov....that's a long way off from now. After this last CBU intake, all will be CKD in Gurun assembly plant & only available in Auto version.

Unless you bought the Premium Variant that comes with a reverse camera, if not then you are just getting the one with reverse sensors. But no GPS stated.

So, maybe check which variant u bought though or call up Great Wall Motors to further clarify. Not with the salesperson u bought from. But just any random person who answer the phone. Just ask if the Great Wall comes with Reverse Camera. Just a normal enquiry.

At least you might will be relieve from your concerns.
