Honda Civic FD2 VS Toyota Camry VS Honda Accord

Ya, time to have kids already.

TS: Just get Camry 2.0. Parts easy to come by and normal maintenance. Handling for the latest Toyotas have improved. Good luck.

Handle wedding and getting married 1st la lol. That one already will cost me a JDM performance car

Rude not to reply ma. Back to topic.

i really thought there are plenty of messages may give me more clearer but hey, thats alot out of topic texts i guess!! lol....

I really wish to own FD2 to be honest. whats make me to consider of Camry / Accord solely:" is there any others car that i can own with the same amount of $ i paying to FD2?".

i think camry is spacious car, since i am going to have another kid soon (2nd kid), space is crucial for me then, i may not give a ride much of people at the same time, at least i may bring parents / old folk with those kids. and of course, talk about comfort, i bet camry is still the best. but think wisely, i may not always do that (bring parents here and there with the kids). only few time in a year.

Bear in mind, i may bring the 2-years-old-soon and a toddle, and wife to everyway. that would be the only a car in the house at the moment. thats why i thought about the maintenance / problematic issue.

My daily routine is send the kid to the baby sitter / kindergarden early in the morning and of course pick her up at late evening, whilst will have my journey to work from setapak to TTDI, vice versa. the route may not cause me stuck in the heavy jam as i would take Jalan Gombak-jalan pahang-damansara height-ttdi. weekend?? erm.. window shopping.. not much to think about as young family here. $ still the essential matter here.

issue that concern me alot is the problematic of FD2, i do not wish to end-up 'feeding' the car in the worskhop more than i do on the road. comparing FD2 to Camry in term of spacious just like comparing Kancil to MYVI. despite not to that greater. whereas problematic, i hardly hear people are complaining about the Camry than FD2, perhaps bros out there may give me more information.

Think about 'what will i do the most', "my daily routine" will be the ans which will led me into choosing FD2, FC will be much better than Camry, i guess.*based on my daily routine (correct me if i am wrong) Spacious?? erm.. i do not travel to Penang that much but occasionally.

DAMN!!!! i am still in dilemma! :bawling::bawling::bawling:

If you want/need space and comfort then get a D-segment like Camry/Accord but if you intend to get just the 2.0 then better test drive first to see if the power is sufficient for you. I'd personally would never ever want to buy a car that size using just a small 2.0 NA engine coz it feels just too underpowered. Average fuel consumption and maintenance also would not be too different between the 2 engine sizes, so the only downside is the roadtax of the bigger engine (which should not be a problem if you really have the budget to own such cars).

Since you're in the same situation as me - you need to get a bigger car. The FD2 isn't big enough in the back. Get the Camry la. Close shop.

But spend a LOT of money security, don't skimp on the GSM tracker, immobilizer, etc. You need those to protect the car.

You think it will be cheaper if the parts came from P1?

If comfort first priority then it will be the Camry. Camry and Accord will have Managerial executive status/looks. I still say test drive the cars and see which you prefer. Buying a car you don't like to drive will be horrid.....:burnout:

camry also does have the rear aircond, that is important for your kids.

I think your priority wise, I think Camry suits u more. Unless u like some hardcore driving. FD2 vs Camry, I would take Camry 2.4L if u can afford it then 2.4L better. If 2.0L vs 2.0L then it depends on what you want to have in your car. Some hardcore driving then FD2 2.0L.

If not then just take 2.0L Camry as family car. Leisure and comfortable ride.

Go for camry 2.4L la. No need to think. Unless FD2R hehe!

Yup, provided not thinking of the road tax. If thinking of the road tax, then 2.0 only.....
2.0 - RM380, 2.4 - RM780, that is why my rides all limit at 2.0 and below....:biggrin::biggrin:

most of people here were advising to take either 2.0L / 2.4 (if i have much budget).
yeah, i do expect to spend some money for GSM tracker, immobilizer, and also the road tax.. 2.0 - RM380, 2.4 - RM780, (P.S = save another RM40.00 monthly. heheheh).

i do appreciated the information like rear air-con. and also, i do expect my wife will be sitting at the back to look after the kid, just the matter of time when kid grown up (4 yrs old), no longer got to sit next to them.

by d way, is the insurance is significant between 2.0L and 2.4L? how much would that be? mind to share??

and also, is Toyota Aurion TRD bodykit is available in Malaysia Market? i tried to search but could not find 1. any 1 out there have an experience purchasing this bodykit??

PS: with the TRD bodykit, the camry looks much different, from decent uncle look to rugged-look uncle.. hahahahah

U buying the new previous gen? I have it.

Insurance depends more on the amount insured rather then on capacity, but basically the 2.4 is more expensive so the insurance will be more. But if you have NCB then can get much lower.

This one right? If Stupidcar have then can get from him, if not you can go for custom bodykit in Sunway area. But custom bodykit won't be cheap.

Actually, if you're going to buy the 2.0 Camry, why not go test the Nissan Sylphy? At least that's CVT so the drive is smoother and probably will have better FC. Space Camry no fight both interior and boot and 2nd hand price Sylphy much cheaper to buy. So you lose less if you resell it.

Cost to maintain I suspect will be about the same cuz the Sylphy is a 100k km car, before that there's very little needed to change.

Handling wise I think should be more or less the same too.

But u said is a boring car to drive

i saw Honda Accord 8th on the road, saw with bodykit and sport rims where it makes looks sportier than camry (which with body kit n sports rims also)...

i am curious if there is any good about Honda Accord 8th Gen? almost the same as camry?

Perhaps, test drive both cars, will not bring any big diff to me, but what i am really concerned are the maintenance and alo the FC. any owner out there can say some words, please?

honda i vtec engine seems to return good fc as i experience with a rn5 stream.
the fc is not remarkable but respectable for its size.

no doubt the accord have the much younger look againsta the camry with matured exec look.
again, honda part is slightly pricier than camry.
camry is a tad cheaper mayne due to the larger sale volume.

newer gen kia and hyundai have eye pleasing design.
what to fail?almost nothing at least thats what it looks on paper.
notice hpw simple their engineering is.thats why i said its unlikely will fail on u.
i do believe its as reliable as the honda.
however the part price is the same with a honda.
